A l\u2019\u00e9poque j\u2019\u00e9crivais pas mal, comme artiste, mais aussi comme commentateur. Aussi, j\u2019\u00e9tais en train d\u2019apprendre les formalit\u00e9s de la langue fran\u00e7aise. Afin de m\u2019aider dans mes d\u00e9marches, j\u2019ai achet\u00e9 la traduction fran\u00e7aise du livre \u00ab&nbsp;Art en Th\u00e9orie&nbsp;\u00bb. Ceci m\u2019a rappel\u00e9 une conversation avec Martin Boyce qui a eu lieu peut-\u00eatre deux ans auparavant. Il venait de terminer ses \u00e9tudes MFA \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9cole des beaux-arts de Glasgow, je venais de m\u2019y inscrire. Il n\u2019y avait pas une \u00e9norme liste d\u2019\u00e9quipement \u00e0 acheter exig\u00e9e par l\u2019\u00e9cole, mais tout les \u00e9tudiants devait acqu\u00e9rir une copie de \u00ab&nbsp;Art en Th\u00e9orie&nbsp;\u00bb pour pouvoir suivre le programme des s\u00e9minaires men\u00e9es par John Calcutt. Toujours \u00e0 la recherche d\u2019une affaire, j\u2019ai demand\u00e9 \u00e0 Martin si il a toujours le sien. Sa r\u00e9ponse sardonique a \u00e9t\u00e9, \u00ab&nbsp;Oui, mais il me sert pour redresser ma table bancale&nbsp;\u00bb. Alors j\u2019ai fait cette sculpture.
